Taking the Rain in Style

In dedication to the rain that has been happening in the Bay Area, I decided to do a post on what I wear when it is wet outside.
I got these Burberry beige classic rain boots as a gift for Christmas two years ago. I absolutely love them! There is nothing more rewarding than being able to wear fashionable footwear during rainy weather conditions. And look who else I spotted wearing them, Ms. Hilary Duff.
The rain doesn't make me blue when I am wearing these waterproff wellies!

A Little Pep in my Step

I love wearing heels as much as the next girl. In fact I love it so much, that sometimes I will put on a pair of 4 inch pumps just to vacuum or wash my dishes.  (did I really just admit to that on the internet?) But every once in awhile, I like to slip into a pair of ballet flats.

I wore these Love Moschino flats the other day with skinny blue jeans and a black long sleeve shirt. The shoes definitely made the outfit.  I bought them online on Piperlime.com. I love the fact that they are functional yet feminine at the same time.

Giuseppe Zanotti, Oh How I Love Thee, Let me Count the Ways

I was just 19 years old when I first heard the name “Giuseppe Zanotti.”  Little did I know then that, that name would have a huge impact on my shoe closet years later.
Mr. Giuseppe Zanotti comes from Fellini’s Rimini a small town in Italy famous for its great shoe manufacturing tradition.  It was his passion for women’s feet and interest in fashion that made him desire to get into the industry.  And thank God he did!
When I saw these stunning shoes years ago, my heart stopped.  They were so simple and elegant yet so fierce at the same time.  I absolutely had to have them! I started saving that day, as we all know pretty always has a price. It took me weeks - 11 to be exact.  But I marched my way back to Macys in Union Square to get what I had given up weekly sushi dates with my friends to get, and lo and behold, my shoes were on sale! (By the way, thank you Macys for frequently marking things down)  I walked out of the store that day with my shoes feeling a huge sense of accomplishment, almost like the feeling that you get when you ace a huge test that you didn't even study for, only 10 times better.  I knew this was going to be the start of a lovely relationship.
Years later, my closet has 4 pairs of unbelievable shoes, from pumps to flats, designed by Mr. Zanotti. He is my shoe designer of choice and I don’t know where my collection would be without him.

Cleaning Out My Closet

The other day I decided to clean out my closet. It had been awhile because I kept coming across things I forgot I had. (don’t you love when that happens?) I ended up finding these pair of Anne Klein’s in the back of my closet that I bought over 4 years ago! This shoe is a gold printed lizard leather sandal on a 4 inch cork wedge with gold accents at the toe and heel.  For everyone out there that did not know, shoes that have cork are great for absorbing impact and reduce stress on your feet, heels, arches, ankles, legs and spine.
I am excited as many designers came out with some amazing textured and statement wedges for spring.  Cork or rope-espadrille styles bring a casual, effortless, feel to almost any summer outfit.  I think I’ll be pairing these Anne Klein’s with bell bottom denim jeans as soon as it gets warmer in San Francisco.
I need to start cleaning out my closet on a regular basis if I continue to find things like this.

59 and Counting

I have been in love with these shoes since I saw the black leather version at the mall months ago. They remind me of the YSL tribute pump at a fraction of the cost.  These Pour La Victoire pumps, style name Irina for any of you wondering, are absolutely alluring and the 1 inch platform makes these shoes unbelievably comfortable.

I added these patent leather pumps to my closet 2 weeks ago, making them my 59th pair of shoes. I have already worn them with skinny leg jeans and a black blazer, and they received more attention and head turns than I expected.  I will definitely be wearing them this spring with a lot more than just jeans.
P.S. How much do you love the dagger on the bottom of the shoe? It adds some sass!
